Mayan Cacao Elixir – Ancient Mesoamerica

Context & Origin:
The Maya and Aztecs used raw cacao as a sacred drink for health and vitality. Cacao is rich in flavonoids, which reduce inflammation, while cayenne pepper boosts circulation and pain relief.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of hot water or almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
  • ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey or agave nectar

Instructions:

  1. Heat the liquid and mix in cacao and cayenne.
  2. Stir well until smooth.
  3. Sweeten with honey or agave if needed.
