Origin & Context:
Shea butter has been used for centuries in West African cultures to protect and heal the skin. Carrot seed oil is an Ayurvedic favorite for revitalizing sun-damaged skin.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup raw shea butter (SPF 4–6)
- 2 teaspoons carrot seed oil (SPF up to 40)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon zinc oxide (optional for added SPF)
Instructions:
- Melt shea butter and coconut oil together.
- Mix in carrot seed oil and zinc oxide if using.
- Whip the mixture for a fluffier texture.
- Store in a tinted jar to preserve oils.
